Updating SmartNav: Navigation With New Maps
New map data is released to all iFaces equipped with SmartNav: Navigation roughly four times a year.
These updates can only be completed using a WiFi connection as they are extremely data intensive.
Please click this article first, which explains how to setup a WiFi network for your iFace. The below can then be followed to update the device with NEW Maps.
The current map version is shown on the first screen upon opening SmartNav: Navigation
Step-by-Step guide
1. Open SmartNav: Navigation
If the screen is already connected to the internet via WiFi, the below message will appear
This screen will also appear of an iFace connects to WiFi while not in SmartNav: Navigation (ie the app will automatically open)
2. Tap download
If the device is powered up within WiFi range, the app will restart after 10 seconds, and the download will automatically begin after restarting
3. The update will proceed to download
Progress is updated every 30 seconds
4. The map update is completed
Press Restart Now - once done, Maps will now be ready to use again
If the iFace is not yet connected to WiFi, the below will appear
This pop up will appear if a new version of maps is available. This will appear every time Maps is started. Ticking 'Don't remind me again' will disable the reminder
