VPM Trip and Period Reports

The VPM Trip Report provides a breakdown of data recorded for a given trip including speed, fuel usage, and brake usage.

The VPM Period Report will summarise this data for all trips in a given time frame.

Please note: this report is only available for vehicles with a Qube and NavCAN installed.

The VPM Trip and VPM Period Reports can be found in NextGen in the Reports heading on the left-hand side of the screen, under Vehicle Performance Monitor. These report allows the user to identify harsh driving behaviour, inattentiveness, failing to anticipate etc to determine potential improvements in driving efficiency and safety.

After selecting the desired parameters, the report will generate a series of graphs, each of which corresponds with an trip/period that begins with an Ignition On event and ends with an Ignition Off event.

Each graph will include the following information.

  1. Utilization – How the vehicle was utilized for the period of the report
  2. Engine Use – What activity the vehicle performed for the period. Idle is engine turning, wheels not turning, Roll is engine turning, wheels turning
  3. Fuel Consumed – Reported fuel burn by the vehicle for the trip or period. How much was burnt while the vehicle was stationary and moving. Using Distance economy is presented and reported
  4. Brake Use – The application count of the service brake; should also show the trip / period time for on and off, and the distance for on and distance for off
  5. Oil Pressure – A matrix of every second the oil pressure was reported to be in the individual pressure bands
  6. Engine Temperature – A matrix of every second the coolant temperature was reported to be in the individual temperature bands
  7. RPM – A matrix of every second the vehicle was utilized in the Speed and RPM band
  8. Exceptions – Heavy braking is monitored by wheel speed deceleration, default is 10 km/h per second, (ie the vehicle must exceed 10 km/h, for example from 80 to 69 km/h in less than a second to trigger the event).
