Power Take Off (PTO)

Most heavy vehicles include a Power Take Off function where the vehicle’s engine is used to power some other equipment on the vehicle, like a pump used for loading/unloading. Many of our customers use this feature in their day-to-day operations. The status of the Power Take Off is also a good indicator of when a vehicle is being loaded/unloaded.

You may need to know the amount of fuel used when the vehicle is not being driven, i.e. while loading/unloading with the PTO. This is useful information, because in some cases this fuel is tax free.

Features

  • Generating of PTO event records (from the telematics hardware) based on digital input data or CANbus (CANbus only available on certain hardware)
  • A PTO report to indicate detailed information when the PTO turned on/off as well as fuel used during PTO on (fuel used only available on certain hardware)
  • Power take off Summary report as a part of Vehicle Performance Monitor

The Power Take Off report can be found in NextGen in the Reports heading on the left-hand side of the screen, under Vehicle Performance Monitor.

After selecting the desired parameters, the below output will be generated.
